Details of the training courses available for governors through the local authority, the Leicester Teaching School and online.
Courses currently available:
Due to the continuing impact of Covid-19 and the national lockdown, face-to face training remains suspended and this is likely to continue for the foreseeable future.
However, the following on-line training opportunities are available to governors:
Leicester Teaching School (LETS)
The Local Authority is working with the Leicester Teaching School who continues to offer a wide range of virtual governor courses. Details of the current courses can be found on the 2020/2021 workshop flyer.
If you are a primary governor whose school is part of the Closing the Gap Initiative/governance support project, you are entitled to a fully funded place on the following courses:
- Holding School Leaders to Account
- SEND for Governors
- The Inspection Dashboard
- Effective Governance
- Disadvantaged Pupils
- Safeguarding for Governors
Please contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org if you are unsure whether your school is part of the project.
All of the workshops are run online and further details and how to book a place can be found on the attached flyer. The booking process is the same whether your place is fully funded or at a charge of £30 to the school. Please let your school know if you book a place so that it can include any charge in its budget monitoring procedures.
For those governing boards who subscribe to NGA's Learning Link through us, governors have access to over 50 e-learning modules.
