Rethink Food Towers

RETHINK FOOD FUTURES introduces an alternative method of food production, and at the heart of our food programme is a growing tower which enables schools, organisations and businesses to grow food year-round.

Further information

Rethink food towers are an innovative way for schools, businesses and organisations to help teach about the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals while looking at growing foods in a sustainable way. The soil-free method increased yields by as much as 30% and triples the speed of growth, while using only 10% of the water and space. The grow lights on the tower garden allow you to grow plants indoors all year long. There’s less hassle and clean up because it doesn’t use soil. You can wheel the tower from the classroom to the playground, or the kitchen to the dining room.

The Sustainable Schools Team are currently working with Rethink food futures to encourage schools within the city to sign up for a terms use of one of the growing towers.

For £250 + VAT, schools will have use of a growing tower for one term. This will include technical and growing support, materials for 1 growing cycle and access to the online learning platform which will introduce a growing story for the children.

Get in touch if you would like a tower next term!
