Climate Emergency

On 1 February 2019 Leicester City Council declared a Climate Emergency. In its declaration, the council committed to developing a new action plan to address the emergency through our own services and projects. We also want to inspire schools to join us and take action too.

Prevent duty

The prevent duty is a statutory duty for schools requiring them to have due regard to the need to prevent people from being drawn into terrorism or supporting violent extremism. Protecting children from the risk of radicalisation should be seen as part of school/college wider safeguarding duties, and is similar in nature to protecting children from other forms of harm and abuse. During the process of radicalisation it is possible to intervene to prevent vulnerable people being radicalised.

Key stage 4

Key stage 4 results covers years 10 and 11. We will be collecting Key stage 4 results data so that we can understand results for different groups of pupils across the city. This information is also used to support the transition from key stage 4 to post-16. We hope that all schools will feel they can contribute to this data collection.
