BERA framework - best endeavours, reasonable adjustments

The BERA framework contains a range of documents that help schools and settings know what they must do to meet the needs of children and young people with a learning disability, social and emotional health needs, a sensory impairment or medical needs.

What is the BERA framework?

The framework is a guide to mainstream inclusive provision and practice, it ensures that all children and young people with SEND have the right provision at school and receive an education that values and upholds inclusion.

What makes BERA different to previous inclusive mainstream provision documents is that the framework can also be used to by children and young people, parent/carers or professionals to challenge schools if best endeavours and reasonable adjustments are not in place.

The BERA framework is in place for schools in Leicester and Leicestershire.
