SEND transformation plan - engagement
Leicester City Council sought responses to help develop a plan to transform services for children and young people with Special Education Needs and Disabilities and their families which builds on the SEND Strategy 2019.
We want to provide children and young people with SEND in Leicester City with the support and opportunities they need to have better lives which ‘enables children and young people with SEND to learn, thrive and achieve.’ There are four proposed strategic aims with potential priorities to focus the work over the next 3 years.
We wanted to hear from parents / carers, governors, children and young people, and professionals on how current services are delivered, how they can be improved, and how we can work together to ensure children, young people and their families are actively involved in service planning and developments.
Information on proposals were available on our our website https://consultations.leicester.gov.uk/communications/send-services
Engagement with children, young people, their families and wider stakeholders took place between 4 January and 14 February 2021.
What happens next
We will use all of the feedback to update and develop a three year plan.
The progress of the plan will be reported to the SEND Improvement Board.
We will publish quarterly updates on progress and ensure information is shared through networks and on the Local Offer website.
Please consider the environment.
