Interactive swimming risk assessment workshops

We are offering you the chance to bring along your risk assessment and work on it whilst we run through key swimming activity hazards, risks and control measures in general.

Further information

A quick reminder that you are legally required to produced your own swimming risk assessment.  It is not suitable or sufficient to simply have the risk assessment for the pool you are using, produced by the hired pool.  It is not acceptable to have a standard PESPPA format or the Swimming Risk Assessment Workshop  training risk assessment produced for the recent workshops suitable and sufficient to be used as your own……I drafted this up as an example and included elements that may well reflect your procedures but you must still produce your own document that truly reflects your own procedures, staff, pupils, ratios and arrangements.  Think of the risk assessment as your working /user manual for the swimming activity.

I have decided to put on a couple more workshops before the end of this year…….and would strongly recommend the attendance by those schools who have not yet had their swim audit, although open to all of you of course!

Schools who attended the extra two Swimming Workshops earlier this year held in May – that is Workshops 6 & 7 - I will be contacting you to book your audits for January and February 2018.

This is a chance for you to bring along your swimming risk assessment and work on it whilst I run through key swimming activity hazards, risks and control measures in general and how you may best overcome some of the challenges you face! I will happily spend time with anyone after the workshops who wants it!

This is free to schools in scope (H&S Service buy in) and for those schools not in scope the charge will be £20/person (invoiced afterwards).
