Save the date to make a difference - Clean Air Day 2022 - 3 tips to getting involved this year

This year we will celebrate Clean Air Day turning five years old! To celebrate we would like more schools to participate than ever before.

Clean Air Day will take place on Thursday 16 June - please save the date in your diaries.  So we know who would like to join in, we would appreciate you completing our online form.

We have three top tips for your school to get involved:

1 - Joining in can be big or small

From closing roads (if suitable), finding park and strides, promoting cleaner air through a student led campaign (e.g. anti-idling - switch off your engine for cleaner air), holding assemblies/ lessons in the classroom or having a car free day to promote active travel, the choice is yours (We might need to assist you with some of the bigger things).

2 - Delegate and find someone in your school who would be the right fit to lead on planning a Clean Air Day event or activity

Perhaps a senior leader, subject lead, eco-lead, health and wellbeing champion or PE lead, would be the most appropriate? Or is there a TA wanting to gain further experience?

3 - Resources to give you ideas

There are loads of Clean Air Day resources to have a look through on the Transform our world webpage and there are several lesson plans for KS 1-5 available on our Air Quality Education pages.

We can help you decide what Clean Air Day might look like, further down the line and assist with some of the delivery too.

Register your interest / find out more

We want to know if your school would like to participate, to support you we can arrange a Microsoft Teams meeting or visit to your school to discuss your options.

Online form - Is your school interested in joining in with Clean Air Day this year? Deadline Friday 20 May.
