New young persons advisory group
The biomedical research centre (Leicester General Hospital, part of UHL and the Universities of Leicester and Loughborough) are setting up a new young persons advisory group for those interested in health research.
This new group is aimed at 8-18 year olds. It’s a group for young people interested in health research, a major role of the group will be to advise researchers on their research. It’s an opportunity for young people to have their thoughts, views and opinions factored into health research.
We’re planning on running a session every two months where researchers will present their work/ideas and ask for feedback. These sessions will also include activities and learning sessions centred around healthcare, medicine and research so will also be of interest for those wanting a career in those fields (as well as parallel sessions for parents/guardians and refreshments provided). However we’d also encourage young people who maybe can’t attend sessions to still get in touch as there will be lots of opportunities to get involved in research remotely.
View Generation R Alliance (of which our group will be a part) so you can see the kinds of things other groups are up to, we already have close ties to the Nottingham group.
